Information about the procedure
Everyone has the right to submit a request to ensure the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or any of their elements. You can also request that information be made available through an alternative means of access, for example by reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without audio description, etc.
The accessibility request should include:
- applicant's contact details,
- indicating the barrier that hinders or prevents accessibility in terms of architecture or information and communication,
- indication of how to contact the applicant,
- an indication of the preferred method of ensuring accessibility, if applicable.
The public entity shall ensure accessibility within the scope specified in the application without undue delay, but no later than within 14 days from the date of submission of the application. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the entity shall notify the applicant of the reasons for the delay and indicate a new deadline no longer than 2 months from the date of submission of the application to ensure accessibility.
Where ensuring accessibility to the extent specified in the application for ensuring accessibility is impossible or significantly difficult, the public entity shall immediately notify the applicant about the impossibility of ensuring accessibility and shall provide alternative access.
In the event of failure to provide accessibility, the applicant has the right to file a complaint about the lack of accessibility. The complaint is filed with the President of the Management Board of PFRON, within 30 days, in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 of the Act on ensuring accessibility for people with special needs.

How to find us?
The main entrance to the library is located on the northern side of the Market Square. The pavement adjacent to the buildings surrounding the Market Square (also along the front and entrance to the library) is lined with the so-called szpilkostrada. The szpilkostrada is made of granite blocks laid by hand, specially cut, with the gaps between them filled with mortar. The surface is therefore even and safe. Thanks to it, the path is accessible to people using wheelchairs, as well as parents with prams and people in high heels. However, it should be remembered that the use of this part of the surface may be severely limited by the gardens of restaurants and pubs, the Christmas Market or other outdoor events on the Market Square.
Cultural events and parties organised in the Market Square and near the library may generate significant noise and involve a large number of participants (crowds).
The entrance to the building is made difficult by a step and heavy iron entrance doors that are opened by muscle power. There is a bell button on the right side of the door - you can use it if you need help getting inside. Behind the entrance door there is a room (so-called vestibule) measuring 2.25 x 2.30 m, allowing for free maneuvering of a wheelchair; then a door with a small threshold and then access to the wide main hall.
